This is a improved design for the A-20 nose strut.
The pictures show the master parts and show the kit part compared to the new modified part, the new design will allow either the kit wheel or aftermarket wheels that use the same hub design as the kit parts to be used.
This is the kit part that has been modified to be cast in brass, with 3D printed resin bushes and a length of brass rod to be used as an axle for the wheel. No bending and flimsy support for this aircraft any more. Note you will need to clean up some casting sprue gates from the parts and the odd small brass 'inclusions' that may appear through the casting process.
A 3D printed tube has been added to ensure a more solid location of the nose strut. It does make the set up not 100% prototypical accurate but will ensure that the nose strut is stable and strong, adding to the already improved design. It will also allow for the brass strut and other undercarriage parts to be added later in the build sequence. The assembly is shown in the pictures.
Due to demand this nose strut has been produced, however I may still produce the main undercarriage parts.
Some modellers have indicated that they would just like the nose strut other have said they would prefer a full set. At this stage I have only had access to the nose strut parts, when I am able to obtain a kit I will make a full assessment of the viability of replacing the kit main undercarriage parts with brass.
If and when that happens I will email each customer that has purchased the nose strut to see if they would like the complete set. Any that have purchased the nose strut and would like the full set I will offer a discount so you do not loose out, and you will get priority delivery of the extra parts.
